About Us

Challenge Riwaka is a locally owned rural business on the main road to the Abel Tasman National Park and Kaiteriteri Beach that has been providing the local community and tourists with excellent service for the past 40 years.

We keep our fuel prices low and this, along with our comprehensive range of services, means we are a “One Stop Service Shop”.

Come and meet our staff, they pride themselves on their helpful and friendly service.

Challenge Riwaka is open seven days a week and stock a range of groceries and hot and cold food to go.

Our notice board out on the forecourt is well patronised and a good source of free advertising for our community.

We are a New Zealand Postal Delivery Centre and sell a range of stamps and assorted postal and courier bags. Our delivery is six days a week and we have both counter mail for those who qualify, and post office boxes.

NS Rogers Challenge Riwaka also provide an Automotive and Engineering service with plenty of other goods and services, for more details regarding the NS Rogers business, see

Being so close to Kaiteriteri Beach and the Abel Tasman National Park our staff are very knowledgeable when it comes to giving directions and advice on places to go and things to see.

Our community is our lifeblood. While we do get many customers from out of town, “our locals” are what we represent. To that end we try to give as much back by way of sponsorship and local initiatives. Saying that, what gives us the greatest pleasure is our annual programme of sponsoring three local organisations, our local schools and the local rugby club JAB player of the day. We know how difficult it is to get funding nowadays and this is our way of helping our community.

We sell the Motueka Lions Club potatoes and kindling wood on their behalf and sponsor the postage for their annual fertiliser flyers.

Our aim is to be more than just a petrol station and workshop. We have a very loyal base of customers and they become part of our “Challenge Family.”
